Here are some of the questions we hear most often.
Still unsure about something? Just give us a call — you’ll reach someone who truly understands pelvic health and can help.
1. What conditions do you treat?
We specialize in pelvic floor and core rehabilitation for women experiencing pain, weakness, movement limitations, and functional impairments. This includes incontinence, prolapse, pain with sex, diastasis recti, post-surgical recovery, and orthopedic pain linked to pelvic floor dysfunction.
2. What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first session includes a personalized assessment, movement analysis, if appropriate, an internal exam, and treatment. Dr. Erika will go over each step, you'll discuss your goals, and create a customized plan, including exercises and evidence-based treatments, to help you move pain-free and improve function. Wear comfortable clothes that allow for assessment and treatment. You'll receive specific instructions when you speak with our team and through email.
3. What makes Design PT + Wellness different?
We specialize in pelvic health and its impact on the rest of your body, providing expert care through a fully individualized approach. In our one-on-one, hour-long sessions, we uncover the why behind your symptoms and create a clear, personalized plan for lasting recovery.
4. How is payment handled at Design PT + Wellness?
We operate as a private-pay practice to provide personalized, one-on-one care without limitations. A detailed superbill is provided upon request for your records and potential out of network reimbursement according to your benefits.
5. Can't I just do Kegels?
Not usually! Doing Kegels alone rarely addresses the real cause — and in some cases, they can even make symptoms worse. Effective treatment goes far beyond Kegels and focuses on finding the why behind your pelvic floor issues.
